The song was created in protest in Nashville, Tennessee not letting Grant MacDonald play his gay-themed music on their radio station. As a response to Nashville being homophobic, Grant created Ram Ranch.

In recent weeks, counter protesters have used Ram Ranch — a song whose explicit lyrics tell the story of "18 naked cowboys" — to troll anti-mandate demonstrators in Windsor, Ont., and Ottawa.
